Common uses: Intestinal troubles, respiratory problems, bronchial inflammation, pleurisy, digestive problems, irritable bowel syndrome, stomach ulcers, cell repair, anti-inflammatory in injuries and infections, promote healing of broken bones, sprains, bruises, strains, acne, psoriasis, boils, reduces scar tissue, reduce swelling and edema, regrowth of skin and tissue cells

Also known as: Blackwort, Slippery Root, Knitbone, Bruisewort, Wallwort, Knitback, Black Root, Boneset, Gum Plant, Healing Herb

Origin: Croatia, Europe

Effects/Properties: Astringent, Analgesic, Anti-inflammatory, Demulcent, Expectorant, Cell-proliferant, Myalgia, Tissue/Nerve Stimulant

Pharmacology: Allantoin, Mucilages, Protein, Triterpene saponins, Tannins, Silicic Acid, Pyrrolizidine alkaloids, Phenolic Acids

Precautions: Not to be used when pregnant or nursing, do not apply to broken skin, not to be taken internally without professional supervision, and then only used for no longer then 4 weeks at a time. Not to be used in persons with liver or kidney disease. Comfrey Root is more potent then the leaf, but can be toxic to the liver, and it is suggested to only use Comfrey Root externally and on unbroken skin
